Cooperative Food Empowerment Directive (Co-Fed)

The Real Food Challenge partnered with the Cooperative Food Empowerment Directive (Co-Fed) to put on 3 amazing events in summer 2010!  Co-Fed is designed to bring student-led food cooperatives (co-ops) to colleges and universities throughout the country.

Because of the excitement generated through Co-Fed's kick-off 6-day retreat in June in Sebastopol, CA, we put on two more follow-up trainings in Berkeley, CA, on Saturday, July 24 and Thursday, August 19. 

Unlike our Summer Leadership Trainings, the Co-Fed trainings were geared specifically toward students who want to start, get involved in, or strengthen student food co-ops on their campuses. 

Students came to one of these 1-day events to:

• Learn about student food cooperatives
• Develop the skills to build one on your campus
• Meet other amazing folks looking to jump-start a coop at their schools
