The Midwest Real Food Summit, organized by the Real Food Challenge, will be held in Fairfield, Iowa from March 7th-8th, 2009. This regional gathering of students, allies, and key members of the Just & Sustainable Food Movement will build upon campus accomplishments from around the Midwest to catalyze regional communication and coalition building.
Students will:
- Share and gain skills to act for greater social, environmental, and economic justice in their local communities & institution
- Learn from successful models and case studies
- Build lasting relationships toward future collaborations
- Return back to their institutions prepared to work for the solutions and change needed.
The summit will begin on Saturday morning and close on Sunday afternoon. We will do our best to arrange free housing for all students in Fairfield.
